Save Your Holiday Season, and Your Money, With Slice Drops

For close to a month now, all anyone has heard about is holiday shopping, and how to get the most bang for your buck from Black Friday and Cyber Monday. There have been listicles, and TV segments, and radio play all dedicated to this month-long phenomenon and then, once Cyber Monday week ends, it’s gone.

It ends so abruptly that you would think the holiday everyone was shopping for had already passed. Nay. The holiday is still almost three weeks away, but a lot of the deals – at least the dramatic ones – are over.

What is one to do now that there is no dedicated day to service our shopping needs? How can we be expected to shop ‘til we drop if the prices have risen back to normal heights?

Lucky for you, my dear shoppers, Slice has come up with a genius solution.

Today, our good friends at Slice have launched a new app called, as you may have guessed, “Slice Drops”.

What does it do? It protects you, the buyer, from after-the-fact price reductions and makes sure you get the refund you deserve. If you’ve ever been burned by seeing an item you bought online drop in price soon after you paid full price, this is the app for you. It will take a look at all of your e-receipts and watch your recent purchases to see if the merchant has dropped the price. If it has, the app will notify you and walk you through the process of getting your money back. This is especially helpful this time of year when after the biggest shopping week of the year sales are incredibly sporadic and can pop out of nowhere.

I know I’ve decided against buying something right away because I was afraid the price would come down after I bought it, only to find out the sale was never coming, and the item sold out. Don’t let that happen to you.

I’m mighty glad you asked! This is still the season for deals, so what Slice Drops does is, it keeps track of the price drops it has found for its users, and displays them to the other users in the form of deals.

No longer will you have to scour the net (people are still calling it “the net”, right?) looking for a good deal, it’ll be right there in your app.

If you still haven’t finished your holiday shopping, and are beginning to scramble, and maybe even panic, this is the app for you. It’ll give you peace of mind in knowing that even if an item drops in price after you spend hundreds of dollars on it, you’ll recoup that money without issue, and it’ll notify you of deals it has found for other users.

It’s really just a one-stop shop for all things holiday shopping.

Oh, and one more thing: Amazon has largely gotten rid of their price protection policy, but Slice Drops is doing us all a solid and honoring those price drops for the holiday season, too.

Slice Drops will scan your inbox for e-receipts and begin tracking them for any price drop that may happen. Now, most merchants have a refund window of up to a couple weeks, so if the item you purchased falls outside that window, it will not be tracked by Slice Drops.

Once a price drop has been detected, the app will notify you and allow you to send an email to the merchant asking for your money back and within a few days, you should see that money back in your account. Simple as that.

What are you waiting for? Seems like a no-brainer if you’re still getting your holiday shopping done. Scratch that. It’s a no brainer regardless. Give it a shot.

Until next time – don’t worry, shop happy.
